World Bank

Global unemployment has reached a sky high in the past few years.  As college graduates enter the real world, they cannot find job opportunities in order to share the knowledge and skills they have been honing for 4+ years.  In addition, interest rates on loans continue to rise, making the necessity for a steady income a top priority for many individuals who have taken out loans for college or other necessities.  How do we solve this global crisis that affects so many individuals?

The World Bank is holding a Youth Summit for young people in partnership with the United Nations and Athgo in order to find and compile ideas on how to combat the growing rate of unemployment. Because young people are going through this hardship, it is important to listen to the ideas that young people have in order to increase employment opportunities for young people.  This convention focuses on three topics: education, youth employment, and millennial communication, which includes social media and technology.  The convention is free and open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 35.  Participants can form teams of up to 5 people.  Individuals who do not want to participate can still order tickets for the convention.

If you are interested in this opportunity, you can find more information in the links below.  Ideas for the Youth Convention must be submitted by September 8th, so make sure to plan accordingly!  Also, check out Athgo’s Youtube Channel later this week to watch the Vlog about this event!
