The Architects of the Future Young Diplomats and the Millennium Development Goals

Global Forum
United Nations, New York
April 26-28, 2005

The three-day event discussed the importance of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and reveal implementation strategies designed by 400 students and entry-level public servants. The forum will produced a resolution co-written by all the participants was sent to UN Economic and Social Council meeting.

The success of the Millennium Declaration of the United Nations and the eight MDGs depends not only on acknowledging the unacceptably high levels of global poverty, illiteracy, gender inequality, child and maternal mortality, disease and environmental degradation but also on crafting preventive programs.

The forum is centered on the single idea that the success of MDGs depends not only on current and immediate action in crisis and poverty stricken areas but also on future prevention of these types of undesirable developments.

Athgo International believes that educating college age students and young diplomats about the MDGs and providing practical training for their implementation will dramatically decrease global discord and increase the wellbeing of the international community.
